Greg Abbott targets gentle-on-criminal offense lawyers who is not going to prosecute abortion legislation

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) touted a new monthly bill that will focus on "rogue" remaining-wing district lawyers who refuse to prosecute particular crimes.
In a tweet, Abbott referred to Property Invoice seventeen, which enables the removing of county or district lawyers if they refuse to prosecute particular crimes. The monthly bill was enacted largely out of anxiety of lawyers declining to implement legislation pertaining to abortion constraints, but it also arrives amid a pattern of remaining-wing district lawyers refusing to prosecute other decreased-stage crimes this sort of as drug possession or theft.

HB seventeen enables petitioners to file a movement to dismiss a district or county lawyer if they are suspected of not imposing the regulation, at which position the lawyer in query would deal with a demo by jury. Community statements expressing refusal to implement the regulation are grounds for dismissal.
"A general public declaration or announcement by a district lawyer or a county lawyer of an intent to prohibit the enforcement of any felony offense is prima facie proof of an adoption or implementation of a official or said coverage for functions of this chapter," the monthly bill reads.
