A main tragedy was averted on Friday when an Air India and a Nepal Airways plane arrived near to collision mid-air but the warning methods alerted the pilots whose well timed motion prevented the catastrophe, authorities claimed in this article on Sunday.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has suspended a few personnel of the air visitors controller section for "carelessness", in accordance to CAAN spokesperson Jagannath Niroula.
On Friday early morning, an Airbus A-320 plane of the Nepal Airways coming to Kathmandu from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and an Air India aircraft coming to Kathmandu from New Delhi nearly collided.
The Air India plane was descending from 19,000 ft although the Nepal Airways plane was traveling at an altitude of fifteen,000 ft at the exact same area, Niroula claimed.
Soon after it was revealed on the radar that the two plane ended up in proximity, the Nepal Airways plane descended to 7,000 ft, the spokesperson claimed.
The Civil Aviation Authority has shaped a a few-member probe committee to look into the subject.
The CAAN has suspended the a few officers, who ended up in cost of the handle area at the time of the incident.
