An elementary college in New Jersey has eradicated "Jefferson" from its title more than previous President Thomas Jefferson's record of possessing slaves.

Jefferson Elementary College, positioned in the state's South Orange-Maplewood College District, will now be recognized as Delia Bolden Elementary when courses start off Sept. 8. Bolden was the very first black female in the region to graduate from large college.
